Hahn Loeser’s Fort Myers office is housed in the Chadwick House, an historical building in Fort Myers. The home was built in 1925 and so named for its owners, Clarence and Rosamond Chadwick.
Clarence Chadwick was an inventor and entrepreneur, making his first fortune though his invention of forgery-proof paper for checks, which revolutionized the banking industry at the time. After selling his business interests, he enjoyed success again through his real estate and securities investments. In the 1920’s, Chadwick purchased several acres of land on Sanibel and Captiva Islands where he established a successful key lime plantation. He also formed the successful Chadwick and Federal Realty and Development companies.
Clarence’s wife, Rosamond, was a nationally-known opera singer who performed with the Chicago Opera Company, among others. She was active in Fort Myers’ civic and community affairs and held the beautification of the city as a cause near to her heart.
The Chadwick House served as a personal residence until 1976, when it was creatively repurposed into law offices.
