Biography

Robert J. Fogarty has tried numerous cases in both Federal and State courts representing plaintiffs and defendants in civil actions. Bob has handled numerous appeals in various Ohio Courts of Appeal, the Ohio Supreme Court, and the Fifth and Sixth Circuit Courts of Appeal. Bob was formerly an Assistant United States Attorney, and he served as Chief Trial Attorney for the United States in the Southern District of Ohio, Western Division in all areas of litigation including defense of tort, contract, Title VII real property and criminal actions. He has received several commendations from various Federal agencies.

Bob was appointed to Plaintiffs Trial Committee in the U.S. Air Flight 405 Air Disaster. His experience also includes defending a manufacturer in 10,000 mass tort asbestos cases, and serving as regional counsel for a Fortune 100 managed care organization.

Bob is admitted to practice law in Ohio, before the Supreme Court of Ohio; the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio; the Supreme Court of Florida; the Northern, Southern and Middle Districts of Florida; and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a partner, serves on the firm's board of directors and is co-chair of the firms Litigation Area.

Bob is listed in the 2008, 2009 & 2010 editions of Chambers USA: Leading Lawyers for Business, for General Commercial Litigation; in 2009, he was named one of the Top 20 Litigators in Ohio. Additionally, Bob is listed in the 2006-11 editions of The Best Lawyers in America in the categories of Commercial Litigation and Mass Tort Litigation, and the 2004-10 editions of Ohio Super Lawyers. He was also listed in The Top 50 Lawyers in Cleveland in 2005. Bob is AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, its highest available rating for legal ability and professional ethics.
