Biography
David is admitted to practice law in Ohio, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern District of Ohio and Eastern District of Michigan. A partner with the firm, he focuses his practice in the litigation and construction law areas, and also serves as chair of the firm's Recruiting Committee. He has experience in complex commercial and intellectual property litigation at both the trial and appellate levels.
Recent cases include:
- Representation of Exxon Mobil Corporation and affiliates in multiple disputes with joint venture partner Saudi Basic Industries Corporation. These cases, governed by Saudi law, include a March 2003 trial resulting in a $416.8 million verdict for ExxonMobil, one of the highest of that year
- Successful representation of one of the world’s largest construction companies in a seven-figure dispute with a subcontractor
- Successful representation of a Cleveland area subcontractor in a payment dispute with a Japanese construction firm
David is frequently involved in international aspects of litigation, including cases pending in the U.S. governed by foreign law, cases involving foreign governments and cases involving cross-border discovery.
Among his accomplishments, David is listed in the 2005 & 2006 editions of "Ohio Rising Stars" by Law & Politics magazine.
