Biography
As an associate with the firm, Kelly focuses her practice in the Litigation Area. She is admitted to practice law in Ohio and before the Northern District of Ohio.
Kelly has represented clients in the defense of putative class actions, contractual breaches, manufacturing defects, design defects, employer intentional torts, civil conspiracies, premises liability claims, fraud, failure to warn, negligence, and toxic torts. She has experience representing clients such as: trade associations, oil refineries, and title companies, as well as manufacturers of automobiles, chemicals, refractory products, and firearms.
Kelly was a member of the litigation team that defeated class certification in Doll v. Chicago Title Insurance Co., 246 F.R.D. 683 (D. Kan. 2007)
Kelly was also a member of the appellate team that successfully defended a summary judgment ruling in Valentine v. Conrad, 110 Ohio St. 3d 42 (2006), an Ohio Supreme Court decision regarding the exclusion of experts on Daubert grounds.
Kelly is currently serving a three-year elected term on the board of directors of PlayhouseSquare Partners. In 2009, Kelly was named 2009-2010 co-vice chair of the board, and she will serve as co-chair of the board in 2010-2011. Previously, Kelly served on the Partners' executive board as 2008-2009 co-chair of membership, and on its Jump Back Ball leadership board as the raffle co-chair for Jump Back Ball XVII, "Rome If You Want To."
Kelly is listed in the 2010 edition of "Ohio Rising Stars" by Law & Politics magazine, and is a member of the Cleveland Bridge Builders program, which develops rising leaders in the Cleveland community. In 2008, Kelly was named one of Northeast Ohio's Top 25 Under 35 Movers and Shakers by The Cleveland Professional 20/30 Club and Inside Business magazine.
